Discovering the L.V. Collection

“L.V.” – Long Vieillissement (long ageing) These two letters conceal treasures preserved by Philipponnat since the end of the last century. Like a hallmark, they are a sign of recognition for lovers of unique Champagnes.

The Philipponnat L.V. Collection is a rare and original expression of the House’s old vintages: each year, a vintage is unveiled twenty years after it was harvested, twenty-five years for the Clos des Goisses. Available in very limited quantities (only a few hundred bottles per vintage and cuvée), each collection is disgorged six months before being released for sale.

Long Ageing (L.V.) - Champagne Philipponnat

Kept for a quarter of a century in the depths of Philipponnat’s cellars, the L.V. Collection adds the complexity of Champagne aged in the best conditions to the wine’s characteristic freshness. The wines are protected from any oxidation before disgorgement by prolonged contact with the lees. The very low, extra-brut dosage gives full expression to the aromatic personality of each vintage.

Clos des Goisses L.V., 1995, Réserve Millésimée L.V. 2000, Grand Blanc L.V 2000 and 1522 L.V. 2000 are the latest vintages to be unveiled in the L.V. Collection.

Kept for a quarter of a century in the depths of Philipponnat’s cellars, the L.V. Collection adds the complexity of Champagne aged in the best conditions to the wine’s characteristic freshness.
