In perpetual motion
Five hundred years in the heart of Champagne. Almost a repetition, a cycle renewed season after season. Since the very beginning, Philipponnat has always been attached to its fundamental principles: its roots in the heart of Champagne, and the quality of its wines. Every harvest is an opportunity for fresh impetus: an eternal renewal, driving us on a constant quest for perfection.
Five hundred years after the arrival of Avril Le Philipponnat in Champagne, the House still endeavours to express the typical character of its unique terroirs as faithfully and naturally as possible. The ideal exposure of the Ay and Mareuil-sur-Ay hillsides produces perfectly ripe grapes with great aromatic intensity. The chalk soils of the Champagne Premiers and Grands Crus plots provide great freshness and wonderful minerality. In the vineyard and the cellar alike, the know-how passed down from generation to generation showcases a living signature representing the House’s history, tradition and style, with every bottle and every sip.
With the House’s roots so deeply engaged with the distant past, we have no option but to concentrate on the future: that of a House, a terroir, a region, and the successive generations that continue to shape tomorrow’s world with the same fervour. An eternal renewal, a movement that is endlessly repeated, but that never resembles what has come before. Five hundred years old, and as vital as ever.
